Wonderful Philodendron Verrucosum Garden Plant

Philodendron Verrucosum is sometimes called the Ecuador Philodendron, as it is native to parts of Central and South America. This sought-after houseplant plant is a hemiepiphyte. Spending parts of its lifecycle as an epiphyte, as its seeds germinate in the forest canopy eventually sending their roots down and eventually make contact with the ground. The Verrucosum have hairy (pubescence) petioles, unlike most other philodendrons. Indirect light is best for this plant. The roots need aeration, meaning the possibility of direct airflow to the roots. This requirement can only be met if your potting mix is airy and drains well. You will need soil that is chunky and that will allow for air pockets in-between the potting medium to form. Provide bright, indirect light.
